Discover Unique Gifts and Support Women Entrepreneurs with Memphis’ Women-Owned Passport Initiative

Women-Owned Shops Adventure

Explore the Heart of Memphis with the Women-Owned Passport!

If you’re in Memphis and feeling the holiday shopping crunch, fear not; the Women-Owned Passport initiative is back and better than ever! Kicking off on October 1, 2024, this charming program invites you to explore 17 fabulous female-founded businesses throughout the city. Not only can you discover unique gifts, but you also get to support amazing women entrepreneurs who are working hard to make our community shine.

Your Invitation to Shop Local

The Women-Owned Passport first launched last year, and it was such a hit that it’s returning for its second round. Shoppers enjoyed perusing local stores and supporting female-owned businesses throughout the holiday season, and this year, they’re raising the bar even higher!

The concept is simple: Pick up your Passport at any participating store starting October 1. From November 1 to December 31, you can enjoy special rewards and discounts at each of the locations. Plus, there’s an exciting twist! By collecting stamps from all 17 participating shops, you’ll have a chance to win one of three grand prizes valued at over $300.

How to Get Involved

Participating is a breeze! Here’s how you can join in on the fun:

  • Make a purchase at any of the participating stores.
  • Tag the store on social media and show your post at the store.
  • Leave a Google review and share it with the business.

Once you’ve gathered stamps from all 17 shops, simply drop your completed Passport at your last stop by December 31. You’ll want to mark your calendar as the lucky winners will be announced on January 13, 2025!

A Celebrated Movement

This initiative isn’t just about shopping; it’s about celebrating the incredible women who make up the fabric of Memphis. Last year alone, the Passport initiative handed out 3,400 passports, meaning it fueled a thriving local movement that encouraged groups of friends to explore new shops together.

Vanessa West, the owner of Avenue Wrapping, and one of the key players behind this initiative, shared her joy from last year, recalling how a passionate group of women made a day out of visiting shops. “I was overwhelmed with gratitude when they showed up at my store. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of support,” she said.

This movement is about so much more than commerce—it’s an affirmation of community and mutual empowerment. Whitney Winkler, another inspiring entrepreneur involved, stated, “It’s amazing to see what can happen when you reach out and say, ‘Hey, I need you.’” It’s a testament to the strength of these women who support one another rather than compete.

Your Local Shopping Adventure Awaits

As you plan your holiday shopping, consider visiting the bright spots around the city through the Women-Owned Passport. Not only will you be able to find unique gifts for everyone on your list, but you’ll also discover new corners of Memphis while supporting the fearless women shaping our local retail scene.

So gather your friends, grab your Women-Owned Passport, and start exploring! This holiday season, let’s celebrate our community—and the incredible women behind it—in style. Happy shopping!
