Just in time for Sweetest Day, which falls on Friday, there are plenty of fun events that capture the spirit of this whimsical holiday. For those unfamiliar, Sweetest Day is a bit of a curious celebration. It got its start in the 1920s when twelve Cleveland candy makers launched the idea as a way to encourage sweet gifts for loved ones. They distributed over 20,000 boxes of candy to newsboys, orphans, and the elderly. Talk about a feel-good holiday!
