Memphis Welcomes New Leadership at the Realtors’ Association
Memphis is buzzing with excitement as the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) welcomes its new CEO, Amanda Creel, who officially took the helm in September. This fresh leadership comes after an extensive national search, and the community is eager to see what changes and innovations Creel has in store!
A Strong Foundation for Future Growth
During her interviews with MAAR’s search committee, Amanda Creel made it crystal clear that she was drawn to the organization’s strong foundation and its potential for positive impact. “This organization has a really strong foundation,” Creel stated enthusiastically. “I’m excited to get involved with what I like to call next-level projects, working alongside our amazing volunteer leaders and staff.”
Creel is stepping into MAAR after the tenure of former CEO and EVP, Katie Shotts, who left the organization last August. With a rich background, including her previous role as the CEO of the Birmingham Association of Realtors and leadership positions in Arizona and Alabama, she brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Strategic Changes on the Horizon
MAAR is gearing up to unveil a new strategic plan early next year, which will set measurable objectives to create a long-lasting impact in the Memphis community. Amanda emphasized her vision saying, “This could mean anything from creating a safe park for children to play in, or even helping someone navigate the complexities of buying their first home.”
One key focus for Creel is to ensure that housing and homeownership become more attainable for everyone in her community. She plans to accomplish this by developing programs tailored to homeownership, particularly emphasizing a pathway from homelessness to housing tailored to individual circumstances. “We definitely want to be more involved and be a voice for the community at all levels of the Realtors association,” Creel noted passionately.
Building Relationships and Community Engagement
Another priority for Amanda Creel is to enhance MAAR’s standing by strengthening existing relationships with other real estate organizations and creating new partnerships with like-minded organizations who want to support the community. She knows that collaboration is key to success, saying, “We want to help people understand why Memphis is a fantastic place to call home and put in programs that will highlight that in partnership with everyone throughout the community.”
In addition, Creel aims to increase MAAR’s access to grants from the National Association of Realtors. This move could provide essential funding for various community initiatives, making it easier for more families to achieve home ownership and stability in the Memphis area.
A Vision for the Future
Amanda Creel’s appointment has generated a buzz throughout the city, with many local agents and community members looking forward to her leadership. Her vision is clear: to not only uplift the housing market in Memphis but also to positively impact the community as a whole. With her at the helm, the future looks bright!
As MAAR prepares for exciting changes and collaborations, it will be fascinating to observe how these new strategies unfold. One thing is for sure—this is a pivotal moment for the organization and the city of Memphis!
