Eagles Extend Winning Streak to 10 With Dominant Win Over Steelers

Philadelphia Soars Over Pittsburgh in Another Victory

Hey, Philadelphia! The Eagles just pulled off a dominating win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, proving once again why they’re a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. With the scoreboard reading 27-13 in favor of the Eagles, this makes it a whopping 10 straight wins for the team! Can we say “flying high”? Now, with a record of 12-2, the Eagles are tied with the Detroit Lions for the best record in the NFC.

The Steelers Still Hanging Tough

As for the Steelers, they might’ve dropped this one, but they still maintain a slim lead in the AFC North. With a record of 10-4, they’re just a game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens. And let’s not forget: they’ve clinched a playoff spot already, thanks to the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins both losing their games. If they pull off a win against the Ravens next week, they’ll wrap up the division—talk about high stakes!

An Injury That Stings

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Pittsburgh. The team lost star pass rusher T.J. Watt to what appeared to be a non-contact ankle injury. This hit hard, especially since he added two sacks to his season total, which now stands at 11.5. Coach Mike Tomlin later described it as a “low ankle injury.” Fingers crossed he’s back on the field soon!

First Half: Eagles Take Control

Now, let’s talk about the game. The Eagles took control early on despite a few turnovers here and there. It was a bit shaky at first, but they managed to take an early lead and never looked back. Jalen Hurts connected nicely with A.J. Brown right from the get-go, which helped quiet the noise from the previous week where Brown expressed dissatisfaction over their passing game. Hurts hit Brown for a seven-yard gain on the second play of the game and followed it up with an impressive 24-yarder just a bit later.

The Eagles were on the board first with a touchdown when Hurts maneuvered the ball into Brown’s hands again, capping off a drive that had it all: big runs, nifty scrambles, the works!

Steelers Struggle to Keep Up

The Steelers’ defense had some moments—like when Watt stripped Hurts of the ball—but unfortunately, their offense couldn’t capitalize on those opportunities. They took more than 20 minutes just to get their first first down. At that point, the Eagles had already gained a staggering 148 yards compared to Pittsburgh’s mere 2. Yikes!

Eventually, Pittsburgh found a rhythm and managed to get on the board thanks to tight end Pat Freiermuth, who caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson. But it just wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Eagles.

Second Half: Eagles Stay Strong

After halftime, the Eagles came back ready to play. Saquon Barkley, who had briefly exited with an injury, returned to the field and quickly made an impact. They started the second half with a lengthy drive that really drained the clock. Even a 48-yard field goal by Jake Elliott wasn’t enough to slow Philadelphia down, as they just kept scoring.

The Eagles executed a classic “Brotherly Shove” play later on, which is always fun to watch, and it allowed Hurts to score again, pushing the score to 27-13. The Eagles effectively controlled the ball, holding it for nearly twice as long as the Steelers—39:52 to 20:08. That’s some serious clock management right there!

Looking Ahead

With Hurts throwing for 290 yards and rushing for another 45, paired with solid performances from Brown and DeVonta Smith, who combined for over 200 yards receiving, the Eagles are clicking on all cylinders. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh needs to find a way to support their defense and improve their offense, especially with the Ravens looming. Here’s hoping they can make the adjustments and get Watt back on the field!

What’s Next?

As we look ahead to next week, it’s clear that both teams have plenty of work to do. The Eagles are soaring high, while the Steelers are hoping to regroup and get back on track. Keep your eyes peeled, folks—it’s the NFL, and anything can happen (just ask the Eagles)! Who’s ready for the next round of football?
