Mid-South Gears Up for Exciting Easter Egg Hunts

MEMPHIS, Tenn.

The anticipation for Easter Sunday is building as several Easter egg hunts are set to take place in the Mid-South this Saturday. Community organizations, city council members, and local police are teaming up to offer these events, promising an exciting day packed with family-friendly activities.

Easter Egg Hunt at Tillman Station

Memphis police officers are organizing their annual Easter egg event at Tillman station on 426 Tillman Street. The hunt begins at 10:00 a.m and is set to be a free event open to all. Drawing kids and families from the around the city, the police department’s Easter egg hunt is an annual highlight that fosters positive relationships between law enforcement and the local communities.

Whitehaven’s Easter Egg Hunt

Councilwoman Pearl Walker in collaboration with GK Price Foundation, has announced an Easter egg hunt in the Whitehaven neighborhood. The festivities will be at the BlueCross Healthy Place located in the heart of David Carnes Park. Starting at 10:00 a.m., the event features free admission, music, hot dogs, face paintings, and other kid-oriented activities, ensuring a fun-filled Easter celebration for all in attendance.

Community Easter Extravaganza at Hollywood Community Center

Another anticipated event is Telisa Franklin and Friends 3rd Annual Community Easter Extravaganza. This year, the organization promises to up the ante with a whopping 10,000 Easter eggs up for grabs. The event will be held at the Hollywood Community Center on 1560 North Hollywood Street from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m, offering families an afternoon full of surprise and fun.

Alpha Phi Alpha Partners with YMCA for Easter Event

Also joining the Easter festivities in the Mid-South is the historically African-American fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. They have partnered with YMCA to host their own Easter egg event for the community. The collaboration is set to deliver a not-to-be-missed experience bolstered by each organization’s strong commitment to community service and youth development.

These Easter egg hunts are but a slice of the numerous family-friendly events scheduled to occur in the Mid-South this weekend, showcasing local organizations’ and individuals’ dedication to building strong, inclusive communities.
