Exciting Leadership Changes Energize Southaven Chamber of Commerce

Exciting Changes at the Southaven Chamber of Commerce

Southaven has something to celebrate! Late last week, the Chamber of Commerce made some exciting announcements regarding its leadership team. This news has everyone buzzing with anticipation about the future of the business community in this vibrant city.

New Titles for a New Era

Debbie King, who has been a vital part of the Chamber for over a decade, has officially stepped into the role of President/CEO, taking on a new title that recognizes her hard work and dedication. Prior to this transition, Debbie was the Executive Director, a position she held with great passion for the past three years. Eric Williams, the Board President, shared how he knows just how important Debbie is, stating, “Debbie has proven to be an invaluable leader for our Chamber.” That says it all, right? Her new title not only reflects her commitment but also signals that the Chamber is ready to elevate its support for local businesses even further.

Alongside Debbie’s promotion, Shawntel Hibbler has also received a new title. Shawntel, previously the Assistant Executive Director, is now the Vice President of the Chamber. With experience that includes serving as Member Services Coordinator before moving into assistant leadership in February of this year, Shawntel brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her new role. Exciting times are definitely ahead for her, as she expresses how proud she is of the ongoing work at the Chamber. “I am utterly proud of the work our Chamber has done,” she said, echoing the optimism around them.

A Strategic Move for the Community

The announcement from the Chamber indicates that these changes are more than just a formality; they are part of a strategic effort. The leadership transition aims to strengthen the Chamber’s commitment to shaping the future of Southaven and bolstering its economic vitality. This kind of evolution is essential as communities look to adapt, thrive, and stay relevant in an ever-changing environment.

Debbie, who joined the Chamber back in 2012 and worked as an assistant director before leading the organization, is enthusiastic about what lies ahead. She expressed her honor at taking on this new challenge and is ready to continue the tradition of success created by her predecessors. “The future of Southaven is bright, and I am excited to build upon our legacy of success,” she said, clearly motivated to push for new ambitious goals that will support the local economy.

A Growing Commitment to Local Businesses

So, what does this mean for Southaven’s business community? With Debbie and Shawntel in their new roles, there is a clear signal that the Chamber is gearing up to support local businesses more than ever. They are committed to empowering entrepreneurs, promoting economic activities, and fostering an environment in which local businesses can thrive. As many in the community have already recognized, Southaven’s business landscape continues to evolve, and leadership changes at the Chamber are a big part of that evolution.

As we look ahead, it’s clear that the Southaven Chamber of Commerce is entering a new chapter full of promise and opportunity. With leaders like Debbie King and Shawntel Hibbler at the helm, the future seems incredibly bright for the city’s business community. Exciting times are indeed ahead, and the whole community will surely benefit from the fresh energy and commitment these leaders bring!
