Phone Lines Again Down at Fayette County Justice Complex Amid Ongoing Construction Issues

Fayette County, TN: Phone Lines Down Again at Justice Complex

Hey, Fayette County! It looks like the phone lines at the Fayette County Justice Complex have had another hiccup, and this one isn’t just limited to the city of Memphis. Earlier this week, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reported that their non-emergency phone lines, which include crucial services like the clerk’s office and the jail, are down due to road construction mishaps.

Deja Vu: A Familiar Scenario

You may remember that this isn’t the first time this has happened! Just last Thursday, the Justice Complex experienced a similar issue when road construction crews accidentally cut the lines. Apparently, these sneaky phone lines have a way of disappearing when heavy machinery rolls into town.

Officials are hard at work attempting to get the phones back up and running, however, in the meantime, here’s an important tip: if you have any urgent inquiries or need to reach out to the department, you’ll want to shoot over an email to contactus@fcsotn.org. Better safe than sorry, right?

What To Do If You Need Help

During this downtime for the non-emergency lines, it’s important to remember that all emergency calls must be directed to other agencies, including 911. This is particularly crucial, especially as we are entering a time of year when public safety is paramount. If you find yourself needing to get in touch with the Sheriff’s Office, make sure to keep that email handy until they fix the phones!

What’s Happening Outside Fayette County?

Meanwhile, things in and around Memphis haven’t been a walk in the park either! There’s been a string of unsettling events recently. From a shocking hit-and-run incident that occurred on I-240 last December, where a family is still searching for answers, to a troubling rise in thefts during the holiday season. In fact, police were on the lookout for two men who robbed a delivery driver, making off with seven bins of pharmaceuticals on November 29.

Even more heartbreaking? Police are investigating a situation where holiday toys were stolen from two cars that were packed to the brim with gifts for families in need. What a terrible twist! That group is now rallying the community for support to help replace those toys before the holidays hit full swing.

Other Noteworthy Incidents

And if that wasn’t enough, two people were shot just after midnight Tuesday outside a nightclub in southwest Memphis, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in the area. In a completely unrelated incident, a 13-year-old boy was hospitalized after a violent attack outside Treadwell Middle School that followed a social media threat. This just serves as a reminder of how important it is for our communities to stay connected and vigilant.

As the temperatures start to dip, with a forecasted high of only 43°F and lows around 31°F,

a warm heart can go a long way in these chilly times. Remember to bundle up and keep an eye out for each other, especially with the flurry of activity as we glide closer to the holiday season.

Looking Ahead

Keep those winter coats handy and let’s all do our part to ensure our community stays safe during this brisk season. Here’s hoping those phone lines get fixed soon so everyone in Fayette County can stay connected!
