Memphis is Ready to Feast: Black Restaurant Week is Back for 2025!

Mark your calendars, food enthusiasts! Memphis Black Restaurant Week is set to delight taste buds once again, running from March 16 to March 22, 2025. This year is particularly special as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this mouthwatering event that showcases the vibrant flavors of our city’s amazing Black-owned eateries.

A Delicious Line-Up

With over 20 local Black-owned restaurants rolling out their culinary creations for the event, you’re in for a treat. And here’s an exciting twist—more than 10 of these participating places have opened in the last year. It’s wonderful to see fresh talent joining the culinary scene, and this week is the perfect opportunity to check them out!

The participating restaurants are sure to bring something unique to the table, offering everything from hearty breakfasts to delightful dinners. You can expect some exciting specials including signature brunch beverages like mimosas, and the fun twist of “dirty” sodas. Imagine starting your day with mouthwatering dishes or wrapping it up with comfy Southern classics. What a way to treat yourself!

Explore the Flavors

So what’s cooking in Memphis during this epic week? Get ready to savor a variety of dishes. Whether you’re craving spicy Jamaican jerk chicken or some savory West African food, your taste buds are in for an adventure. Don’t forget about those comforting Southern staples, alongside tantalizing plant-based options for those who prefer something greener.

Restaurants like Curry N Jerk will be serving authentic Jamaican cuisine, while The Four Way keeps the spirit of iconic soul food alive. If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, check out Eggxactly Breakfast & Deli for their delicious Chicken & Waffles or head on over to Biscuits & Jams for their famous Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. In short, there’s a plate for everyone!

Supporting Local Gems

This event aims to uplift and empower Black-owned businesses in Memphis while providing an incredible platform to showcase their cultural heritage through food. The excitement doesn’t just stop at the restaurants; as diners flock to these gems, we’re expecting an uptick in visitor traffic. Some restaurants may serve more guests during this week than they would in an entire month! Now that’s what we call a food frenzy!

The roster of participating businesses adds an element of variety that will keep you coming back for seconds (and thirds!). Included in the mix are Mahogany River Terrace, which offers Southern cuisine with a view of the Mississippi River, and Memphis Jamaican Kitchen, recently transitioned from food truck to a brick-and-mortar establishment. Other fantastic participants include Slim & Husky’s for pizza lovers, Poppz for custom sodas, and Sage with a specially curated menu.

Save Room for More Fun!

Just when you think the festivities are over, get ready for another treat! Following Black Restaurant Week, the 10th Annual Soulful Food Truck Festival will be happening on March 23 at Tiger Lane. So, if you still have that food fever, this festival will certainly help you indulge a bit more, featuring an array of food trucks offering delightful bites to enjoy.

Join the Culinary Celebration

With so much deliciousness to explore, make sure to set aside time in your schedule to support these incredible local restaurants. Gather your friends, family, or even treat yourself to a solo culinary adventure. Your taste buds will thank you as you experience the diverse flavors of Memphis during this extraordinary week.
