Law enforcement responds to a robbery incident involving delivery drivers in Memphis.
The Memphis community is on high alert after two delivery drivers were robbed at gunpoint while making their deliveries. Police are searching for a primary suspect described in detail, while one arrest has already been made in connection to previous robberies. Community members are urged to assist with any information that could help law enforcement apprehend the suspects still at large.
In a troubling series of events that has rattled the Memphis community, two delivery drivers found themselves facing a terrifying situation recently. On February 10, 2025, police rushed to respond to an aggravated robbery call at the King Discount on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The scenario unfolded at 12:03 p.m. when the two drivers were targeted at gunpoint while making their deliveries. It’s a shocking reminder that danger can lurk even in the most ordinary of neighborhood stops.
According to reports, the primary suspect in this robbery is described as a male in his late 20s to early 30s; he stands around 5’11”, has a thin build, a warm dark complexion, and a full beard. Dressed in all-black clothing, he made a bold move, threatening the deliverymen while stealing multiple cases of beer from their dolly. Talk about a risky heist!
This suspect was seen driving a black Chevy Equinox from the early 2000s, which bore a grimy temporary tag of QXV31KA. To make matters even stranger, it had a quirky load of Hello Kitty stickers plastered on the back, perhaps hoping that charming décor would draw less attention during his escapades.
Currently, no arrests have been made connected to this particular incident, but the Memphis Police Department is actively seeking anyone who might have information to step forward. Community members are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH. With multiple incidents happening, it’s crucial for citizens to know that their inputs could lead to putting these dangerous individuals behind bars.
As if that wasn’t enough to create concern, one of the suspects, Javorian Miller, aged 27, was previously arrested on December 26, 2024, for his involvement in a robbery at a local Walgreens that occurred on November 29, 2024. In that instance, two armed men held up a delivery driver at gunpoint as she delivered medication, illustrating the *brutality of these crimes* against innocent workers delivering vital goods.
Miller wasn’t done there. He is also linked to a bold Christmas Eve robbery at a CVS pharmacy. He and an accomplice confronted a delivery driver, stealing a van filled with pharmaceuticals! Luckily, the delivery van was later abandoned, and police managed to recover some stolen medicine bins from a house in the quiet Gardenview neighborhood.
Miller acknowledged his role in the Walgreens robbery, indicating he was simply trying to “get money out of it.” But there’s more. His accomplice in the Christmas Eve robbery managed to escape, running into a nearby house and remains on the loose.
Another suspect, Wardell Thomas, 32, was caught and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. However, two more suspects are currently making headlines, with warrants out against Fredrick Pirtle, aged 25, and Warren McGowan, aged 29. Pirtle is wanted for aggravated robbery, while McGowan faces strikingly severe charges, including two counts of aggravated robbery, carjacking, and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony.
The unfolding story of these robberies is one that surely has residents of Memphis on edge. With active law enforcement efforts and a call for community involvement, there is hope that together, the city can reclaim its streets from these criminals. Every tip matters, so don’t hesitate to pick up that phone and call if you have any information.
As investigations continue, the Memphis community is left holding its breath, hoping that justice will be served, and that those involved in these threatening events will face the consequences of their actions. Stay alert, Memphis!
