Memphis Restaurant Inspection Report: What’s Hot and What’s Not
Hey Memphis, we have the scoop on the latest restaurant inspection scores right here in our beautiful city! If you’re curious about where to grab a bite or what spots might need a little TLC, you’re in for a treat. Each week, local inspectors check out our favorite dining spots and share their findings, so let’s dive into some of the highlights and lowlights from this week’s report.
Slice Midtown: A Slice of Concern
First up is Slice Midtown, located at 1495 Union Avenue, which received a score of 72. While we all love a good pizza, this establishment seems to be struggling a bit with cleanliness and hygiene. Violations noted included a male employee failing to wash his hands, expired spinach dripping onto uncovered butter, and raw food left to thaw in a handwashing sink. That’s definitely something to keep in mind if you were planning to indulge in a slice!
Krystal: A Classic on Elvis Presley Drive
Next, we checked in on Krystal at 4395 Elvis Presley Blvd, earning a score of 77. Not the best news for fast-food fans! Concerns here included managers not properly sanitizing utensils and employees drinking in food prep areas. On top of that, the food prep area was described as dirty, and there were some hygiene slip-ups that raised eyebrows. It might be worth waiting a little longer before swinging by for a burger.
Rotolo’s Craft & Crust: Trying to Rise Above
Moving on, we found Rotolo’s Craft & Crust in Collierville, which scored a more respectable 82. They had a few issues to address, such as no sanitizer in the dishwasher and a buildup of food debris in the microwave. While it wasn’t perfect, it’s still a step in the right direction!
Crumbl: Sweet Treats, A Few Missteps
Crumbl also located in Collierville, followed closely behind with an 83 score. Issues included expired milk and some unlabeled ingredients – a little concerning for all you cookie lovers out there. They also missed some required ceiling tiles and had sanitizer levels that were too high. Let’s hope they whip things into shape soon!
Family Favorites: IHOP and Deli Drama
Remember those delicious pancakes from IHOP at 3710 Riverdale Road? Their inspection resulted in a score of 83 as well. Unfortunately, gnats were spotted throughout the facility, and there was a concerning amount of food left uncovered. Plus, some plumbing issues were noted in the restrooms. It might be a good idea to check the dining conditions before diving into those pancakes!
Then we have Front Street Deli, which racked up an 85 but had its own set of problems, including lack of expiration dates on products and employees not wearing hairnets. It’s crucial for all eateries to maintain proper hygiene for the safety of everyone.
Cleaning Up with Flavor Shack
Another spot, Flavor Shack, also received a score of 85. They need to work on wearing hairnets and cleaning dust from kitchen vents. It seems cleanliness is something we all need to keep an eye on!
In Summary
As you wander through Memphis and decide where to grab a bite, make sure to consider these inspection scores. It’s important to choose establishments that prioritize cleanliness and food safety. Whether it’s a slice of pizza, a fast-food burger, or tasty cookies, keep these scores in mind the next time you dine out!
