Three men from Memphis were arrested following a high-speed chase after allegedly robbing a GameStop in West Memphis, Arkansas. The suspects took over $2,600 in merchandise and were apprehended after leading Arkansas State Police on a wild pursuit that reached speeds over 100 mph. No injuries were reported, but the local community is buzzing about the incident and the questionable decisions of the robbers.
Memphis, Tennessee, is buzzing with news after a wild chase involving three local men this past Saturday. The drama unfolded when the trio allegedly pulled off a robbery at a GameStop store in West Memphis, Arkansas. Talk about taking gaming too far!
It all kicked off around 11:00 AM when the men reportedly entered the GameStop store, leaving with over $2,600 worth of merchandise. The culprits fled the scene in a white Nissan Maxima, thinking they could smoothly cruise away into the day.
But not so fast! Arkansas State Police (ASP) were immediately alerted about the heist and were on high alert. Officers spotted the white sedan zipping around at the intersection of Avalon Street and East Service Road. The scene was already turning chaotic as the driver, later identified as Dennis Davis, decided to hit the gas. Brace yourself: he sped through residential neighborhoods at a mind-blowing speed of over 100 mph.
The thrill of a police chase is usually something you’d see in action movies, but this was the real deal. ASP troopers didn’t take the matter lightly. They initiated a pursuit, determined to catch these men before they could disappear into the sunset. With adrenaline running high, the chase continued until it ended at the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. It’s not every day you see such a high-speed police action in the neighborhood!
The chase concluded when the troopers successfully forced the Nissan Maxima to stop. Once the men were apprehended, a surprise awaited the authorities: they recovered the stolen merchandise valued at over $2,600 from the vehicle. You can only imagine how shocked the officers must have been to find all that loot!
As for the men involved, they are all from Memphis and range from their late twenties to early thirties. Dennis Davis, aged 27, is now facing a host of serious charges, including theft of property, reckless driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with fleeing from police and other traffic violations. Let’s just say he’s in big trouble.
His accomplices, Davion Lawson, 30, and Bobby Logwood, 33, have also been charged with theft of property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Clearly, they were in over their heads, and this is no video game where you can simply restart!
Once the dust settled, all three men were transported to the Crittenden County Detention Center, where they will have time to ponder their recent choices and possibly rethink their views on both gaming and law enforcement. Luckily, no injuries were reported during the chase, but it certainly left the local community buzzing with stories.
Residents are left wondering why these men opted for such a risky plan over what could have been a simple visit to the store. It serves as a reminder to everyone that sometimes, the chase isn’t worth the catch!
As the investigation continues, this bizarre robbery and ensuing chase will surely be talked about in Memphis for weeks to come. Let’s hope that in the future, people choose to engage in gaming without bringing crime into the mix!
