What Makes a Top Workplace?

The process to determine who qualifies as a Memphis Top Workplace is backed by Energage, a research partner based in Pennsylvania. Energage is well-versed in this kind of project, conducting similar surveys for media outlets in 65 markets across the nation. Last year alone, they surveyed over 2 million employees across more than 8,000 organizations!

In 2023, a total of 1,748 organizations accepted the challenge to invite their employees to share their thoughts. Of these, only 44 organizations in the Memphis area received recognition as Top Workplaces. This shows just how high the bar is set when it comes to what makes a workplace truly stand out.
