The scholarship award from Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs law firm will aid Elliott in covering his tuition and related expenses. Rhodes College Alumna Breaks Ground as First Female, Black Bishop of Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi
In a historical moment, the Rev. Dr. Dorothy Sanders Wells, a Rhodes College alumna, became the first woman and first Black person elected as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi. Wells, who graduated from Rhodes College with a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance, will be ordained on July 20th.
